Submer continues to expand and unify its business in the Americas thanks to the hiring of three sales & marketing and technical leaders with international experience in the datacenter and HPC industry and the strengthening of its manufacturing process in the US.

Submer is proud to announce the hiring of Justin Cass – former Head of Channel Sales at Fujitsu America Inc – as Sales Director; Catalin Morosanu – former Intel Key Account Director for Europe, the Middle East and Africa and HPC Director for Cray and Lenovo – as Senior Director Strategic Alliances and Business Development in the Americas; and Eric Collins – former HPC expert at IBM – as Senior Solutions Architect effective immediately.

Justin is a channel focused sales leader with 16+ years in the datacenter industry across OEM and Value Added Partner companies. He has spent time building and enabling an international distribution model, driving hardware and services revenue through a VAR, and most recently managing OEM channel sales at Fujitsu America. Justin’s areas of expertise include channel/distribution sales strategy, partner growth and enablement, and partner program development.

“I am excited to join an organization that has the technology and vision to enable the datacenter of the future. The efficiencies gained and many applications of immersion technology got me hooked immediately on Submer and I look forward to working with partners on a win-win strategy in the North American market”, said Justin.

Catalin is a sales and business development leader with 20+ years of experience in Enterprise IT with a deep focus on HPC/AI and Big Data solutions worldwide and 10+ years of leadership experience managing and transforming large international and multilingual teams and organizations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (Business Development Manager at Silicon Graphics Inc, Key Account Director at Intel and VP of Sales at Cray) and North America markets (Managing Director at Lenovo, Sr. Director OEM at Centerity, and VP of Sales at Atos). Coaching and mentoring, helping talented people to grow in their career ladder are strengths that can be added to his profile.

“It is a real pleasure for me and a big honor to join the talented and innovative Submer team. Having similar European origin, I am very happy to bring my contribution to the Submer presence and for the business growth in the North American region. Working at Submer is a unique opportunity for me to bring my contribution responding to the fast-rising needs of the datacenter customers for computing cooling and environment friendly computing technologies”, commented Catalin.

Eric is a technical and sales thought leader with over 30 years’ experience in the IT industry, in roles from support to professional services to management and working for early stage start-ups, to channels through a 14-year stint at IBM. While at IBM, Eric was part of a small team that built IBM’s high-performance computing (HPC) business in the energy sector. Eric then left IBM and for five years led the Sales and Technical Sales team for a business partner specializing in large enterprise and technical computing. He is frequently sought as a speaker at technical conferences including Offshore Technology Conference, user groups and SuperComputing.

“I first met the Submer team at the SuperComputing conference a few years ago and I was impressed with how they solved the challenges of cooling the data center. At that time, they were doing very well in Europe. I am really excited to be part of the Submer team and helping our customers and partners understand how to use the Submer solution in their data centers here in the Americas”, commented Eric.

Submer is also pleased to announce that our US HQ and factories in Northern Virginia and Maryland have been strengthened: “In this phase of rapid growth, we felt it was necessary to have a solid manufacturing and assembling base also in the US,” said Joan Besares, Head of Operations at Submer. “This strategic decision answers multiple needs: first, it gives us the possibility of delivering our solutions to our American customers faster; secondly, it helps Submer cut dramatically our CO2 footprint, avoiding unnecessary shipping of materials and solutions from our European HQ; and last but not least, it represents a deep integration of Submer into the US manufacturing and distribution datacenter network . It is clearly a win-win situation for everyone: for Submer, for our customers, for our partners and for the market”, added Joan.
