rohitNovember 7 – Second day of 1st test match between India and West Indies brought mixed responses from the viewers for the reason that Master Blaster was dismissed on just 10 runs but Rohit Sharma and R Ashwin showed good performances.

The huge disappointment for the viewers came as soon as Shane Shillingford dismissed Sachin Tendulkar, who is playing is 199th International Test match. From 24 balls, Tendulkar scored just 10 runs. However, his dismissal as ‘LBW’ has raised questions whether the decision of dismissing him was right or wrong. Not to forget, Little Master got the wicket of Shillingford on the first day of the Kolkata test match.

Wicket fell faster in the morning session today but as soon as Sharma and Ashwin came on the crease, situations turned in favor of India. In his debut test match, Rohit slammed a brilliant ton and became the 14th Indian to hit a century in the first match. Fans and his team mates cheered Sharma for his amazing performance in a row. Sharma on one hand scored 127 runs in 228 balls, hitting 16 fours and 1 six in his test debut match, while on the other hand, Ashwin played a beautiful knock of 92 runs in 148 balls. The partnership of 198 between the two has made them stand as established batsmen for India.

At the stumps, India got the lead of 120 runs, making 354 runs on the loss of 6 wickets in the form of Shikhar Dhawan, Sachin Tendulkar, Cheteshwar Pujara, Murali Vijay, Virat Kohli and Indian Skipper M S Dhoni.

As far as West Indies bowling is concerned, Shane Shillingford was the highest wicket taker of the day, grabbing 4 wickets. Third day match is going to be crucial for both the teams as it will decide the fate of the first test match between the two. India with 4 wickets in hand is at the leading position. West Indies need to do intelligent bowling if they are looking forward to win this match
