Moncton, NB – Moncton Cares, a local non-profit organization dedicated to helping newcomers to the Greater Moncton Area, is proud to announce their successes in 2022, achieved with the help of volunteers and a student intern who worked only 3 months in a year.

The organization’s mobile app, Monctoncares, has gained 600 new users in the past year. In addition, Moncton Cares helped 250 individuals learn how to camp, despite facing challenges with funding and resources. The organization’s founder spent six weekends during the summer personally taking newcomers camping.

Moncton Cares also held three webinars on pre-arrival services for newcomers, helping approximately 40 immigrants. In addition, the organization organized trips to the Magnetic Hill Zoo for 300 newcomer immigrants and a potluck event for 400 newcomers. To further support newcomers, Moncton Cares also started a Newcomer Parents Club and a Conversation Club, where individuals can meet and help each other improve their language skills.

The organization’s efforts were made possible by a dedicated team of volunteers and a student intern who was with the organization for three months. “We are grateful for the support of our volunteers and intern,” said Ketan Raval, Founder of Moncton Cares. “Their dedication and hard work have been instrumental in helping us achieve our goals and make a positive impact in the newcomer community.”

In addition to their advocacy efforts, Moncton Cares is excited to announce the launch of their new Airport Pickup program. Through this program, the organization has helped over 700 Immigrant newcomers by picking them up from the Moncton airport and providing assistance during their onboarding journey in the area.

“We understand the challenges that newcomers face when arriving in a new place, and we want to do everything we can to make their transition as smooth as possible,” said Ketan Raval, Founder of Moncton Cares. “Our airport pickup program and advocacy efforts are just two of the ways we are working to support and empower newcomers in our community.”
