Fans Eye Great Performances in India vs. Pakistan Match

March 16
04:32 2016

dhoni2New Delhi, Wednesday, March 16 – Just a few days remain for India vs. Pakistan match to begin. It is the moment for which fans of both nations wait for long as this being considered the biggest contest of the 2016 ICC World T20. Preparations at Eden Gardens, Kolkata are in full swing to host the game. Saturday is the day when both the teams will leave no stone unturned to acquire better position than each other and this would be possible by pocketing a thumping victory. Cricket fans are all set to witness the great show on the field live and support their teams by jumping in joy whenever wickets will be taken or biggies are hit.

The fans who can’t make their way into the stadium would certainly get glued to TV sets at home, watching the action in sheer enthusiasm. India and Pakistan have faced each three times in World Cup tournament of the shortest format and every time it is the ‘men in blue’ who thrashed the latter except one game that was ended in a draw. Indian fans without doubt want Mahendra Singh Dhoni led team India to repeat the same story as they did in 2007, defeating Pakistan in the final to lift the World Cup trophy. But at the same time it is somewhere felt within that this is not going to be easy at all to be on the winning side again. If truth be told then sometimes good performances and tactics fail under pressure, which increases on home conditions.

The Playing XI with the ability to shine in stressful circumstances has definitely better opportunity to win the upcoming game, which is automatically grabbing eyeballs. On one hand, Indian cricketers are aware of the fact that there is no room for making any mistake, while on the other hand, Pakistan are desperate to do something what their team didn’t do in the past. It is true that the conditions of the rivals are almost similar. Both India and Pakistan are under huge phase of transformation but believe in the potential of players – both young and experienced.

Experiments are done by them while electing ‘playing XI’ differently almost in each match and that is to make sure to capitalize both talent and opportunity. Given that India have never lost to Pakistan in the World Cup, not even in 50-50 format, pressure is more on them. However, it is well known to the Indian cricketers that they have the capability to change whole equation through team & individual efforts. The stadium is definitely going to be jam-packed during the weekend as cricket lovers of the two countries have got their tickets done to avoid last minute rush. The level of keenness is going be at peak. No wonder if small scuffles among the India and Pakistan cricketers are seen in view of the fact that it is not only a match, it is a war between bat and bowl.

India were in form back during Asia Cup but they failed against New Zealand a day ago by 47 runs chasing a small total. Now it is time for the real action. Hopes are unquestionably up from Yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Singh, MS Dhoni, Ashish Nehra, Suresh Raina, Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja, Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan, Ajinkya Rahane, Ravichandran Ashwin, Mohammed Shami, Pawan Negi, Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya despite no satisfactory batting by them recently. Full-time and part-time bowlers of the Indian camp would require making Pakistan’s batting order to collapse if given opportunity to bowl first as they did against the Black Caps. However, standing rock solid against Pakistan bowling will also be required.

India are good at chasing. It was though unfortunate they lost against Kiwis yesterday. If this loss is kept in a side then possibility of electing to bowl post winning the toss is higher from Dhoni. Indisputably, India are considered a unit with deep batting lineup but closing the eyes to the fact that they fumble on important occasions is also not possible. There remains 50-50 per cent chance for both the host and tourist to log triumph. Small target is surely not going to be enough to save the match. Cricketers have got to believe in their capabilities. The magic of spin and fast bowling could help India gain foothold. Indian bowling improved a lot in the recent past. Whatever happens in the competition, it is well known truth that outcome will be remembered for generations to come.

If truth be told then Shahid Afridi, Mohammad Sami, Shoaib Malik, Mohammad Hafeez, Khalid Latif, Sarfraz Ahmed, Wahab Riaz, Anwar Ali, Ahmed Shehzad, Mohammad Amir, Umar Akmal, Mohammad Irfan, Mohammad Nawaz, Sharjeel Khan and Imad Wasim make Pakistan look robust. Nonetheless, they first eye to win against Bangladesh in today’s match, which is to start from 3:00 PM.  The team that wins at this stage will gain momentum and confidence required to stay positive throughout the entire tournament. Let us wait and watch whether Bangladesh defeat Pakistan as they did during Asia Cup or a different tale will be written this time.
