Emotional Andy Murray Lifts Wimbledon Trophy Post Thrashing Milos Raonic in Straight Sets

murrayNew Delhi, Monday, July 11 – What a final it was on Sunday, July 10 between Andy Murray and Milos Raonic! Viewers got great dose of entertainment as both players displayed wonderful show on the green court. A spellbinding contest was eyed as Milos Raonic reached the grand slam final for the first time post beating Roger Federer in the semifinals, which was played on July 8 by 6-3, 6-7, 4-6, 7-5 and 6-3.

As a matter of fact then the kind of show he presented against the Swiss professional tennis player was amazing in a lot of contexts. Federer, who is one of the great tennis stars, was taken by surprise after being upset by Raonic, who stayed calm and composed post losing second and third sets but marked solid comeback in the fourth and fifth sets.

The young Canadian tried his best to win sets in the match against Murray, who booked a berth in the Wimbledon final by beating Nicholas Hilmy Kyrgios in the fourth round, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the quarterfinals, Tomáš Berdych in the semifinals. Murray was eying Wimbledon crown for a second time and making sure to make no mistakes. When Raonic lost the first set by 6-4, many thought it might be an easy win for Murray towards the end. But scenario began to change to a great extent when the 25-year-old Raonic started to give a good reply to Murray’s attack.

Chances of him winning the second set were high, however, Murray did not let the opponent gain a grip and won the second set too. Third set was a do or die for Raonic, who was trying to put his best foot forward, capitalizing all possible opportunities. Nonetheless, these did not turn sufficient in front of Murray who won the third set as well. The 29-year-old Murray was in tears after tasting the victory. He was emotional till the end since the feat was big to sink in. The audience praised Raonic for the way he played through a round of applause. Murray smiled on more than a few occasions that is not often seen. He hugged the trophy and lift it up too as the victory been the major one. He thanked his family and people who supported him to stay strong. Presence of prestigious guests like David Cameron, Middleton and Prince William made the play interesting.
